but they never come back into play in the game. you get to pick the # of decoys (5,10,15 and you only get one species) to put out before the hunt, and you get to select where you get to put them. And yes, this includes the 5 shot O/U they invented.ĭecoys. What I DID notice is that the games developers forgot to put in a plug as all three guns have a 5 shot capacity. It claims that the 10 ga is good for distance hunting, the 20 for up close. You get a choice between a 10ga semi, a 16 gauge pump and a 20 gauge O/U. the horniest, hungriest hen I've ever heard. The "hen" call is a high-ball of 7 or so repeated quaks. The "hail" call is a mix of feeder chuckles and single quacks (I'm by no means a competition caller, but I know enough to say that isn't a hail call). The whole game is based on points, you get certain amount of points depending on the range at which you shoot them (way to encourage skybusting). You get bonus points for blue ducks, you get penalized for red ducks. The blue ducks look exactly like drake mallards but are colored blue, the same holds true with the red ducks. Drake mallards, blue ducks, and red ducks. The next thing that bothered me is that there are only 3 species of ducks. it isn't uncommon for your actions to be misread and the dog sent the wrong way To direct your dog, your hold the remote up in the air and push it away for a back command pull it forward for a here command and left or right to send the dog left or right. The controls aren't as responsive as I would like either.
Its tedious and really takes away from what little fun the game was. After you shoot your 6 birds, you spend the next 15 min sending your dog to retreive them. First thing that peeved me was that dog handling was more involving that duck hunting. Unlike other 3D hunting sims where you can move about your envirionment, in UDH you are limited to the small island in which your blind is located. There are about 5 different locations you can hunt, but you are always put in the same spot in that location. Graphics are ok, it goes down hill from there. If you HAVE to have a duck hunting game, by all means buy it.
